Comet NEOWISE
📍 Barrie, Ontario, Canada
Last night (July 17, 2020) the conditions were just right for capturing Comet NEOWISE. This is the first time I've ever photographed a comet. After drooling over other's images on social media lately I couldn't wait to head out on a crystal clear evening. Last night was the night ! For those interested, this comet is visible to the northwest after dusk and slowly drifts down to the horizon towards the north as the night goes along. If you're a morning person, you can see it in the northeast sky before sunrise. I believe the comet will be easily visible at these times for the next couple weeks or so and will end up fading as it speeds away from Earth.

Modern DSLR cameras can capture so much detail in the night sky it's incredible. Even with the naked eye I could see the comet easily as well as a bit of it's tail. The key is to get outside of the city where the light pollution drowns out any visibility of it.
